Procedure :

(Ex: Land-Rover Range Rover (L405) 3.0, 4x4, 400 HP, year 2021, with engine code PT306)

• The ribbed belt is tensioned on the generator via a tensioner device. This is corrected using a pin.
• It is not necessary to disassemble the gearbox and flywheel to simply check the timing or to replace the upper timing chain, but it is necessary to disassemble the lower timing chain.
• The idler gear timing can be checked using a locking cover.
• The crankshaft is secured to the vibration damper using special tool part no. 122001 (use as 303-1659) adjusted and locked. This also serves to hold when loosening the flywheel bolts.
• The camshaft is installed using a special tool, part number 121999 (to be used as 303-1657) locked. It is secured via the opening of the removed filler neck and via access from a test screw through the intake manifold.
• Positioning and maintaining the VCT camshaft setting is possible with setting tool part number 121999 (use as 303-1657).
• Before removal, note the position of the camshaft actuators (exhaust/intake). The camshaft adjusters must not be confused.
